Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco admits that indecisive finishing led to his side’s recent defeat.
Belgium missed a 0-1 defeat to Slovakia in the Euro 2024 Group E first match on Monday, with the second game Belgium having to clash with Romania on June 22.
After the match, the 38-year-old trainer gave an interview with a neutral face and admitted that his team was indecisive in finishing the score, Promotion ufabet which resulted in the game being extremely uncomfortable and stressful.
“Finally I know that we have lost (not losing a single game in my previous 12 games as a manager). Unfortunately, that was today. There is nothing I can say to the team that needs to be improved. We create many opportunities. And have the opportunity to score goals to make the game easier.
“The only thing we didn’t do well was missing chances (to finish). We had a lot of chances. It’s part of the game. And of course the players on the team were disappointed.
“Our training has been very good and sharp. But today we have to score a goal. After this, we will not talk about the problems that have arisen.”
Tedesco added that he knew his 15-game unbeaten run since he took over the team last February would come to an end at some point. “Unfortunately this was today,” he said.
Belgium had two Romelu Lukaku goals ruled out by VAR – one for offside and, more controversially, for a handball by Lois Openda in the build-up but Tedesco did not criticise the officials.
